The department of civil engineering is an emerging department and was started in the college in the academic year 2005-06 with an intake of 30 students per year. It aims to cater to the needs of society for qualified civil engineers with high standards of technical expertise and moral ethics.

Professional Experience:

Worked in the Structural Engineering Research Centre, Chennai from 1972To 2008 in various capacities such as scientist, Assistant Director and Deputy Director and retired as Deputy Director on 30.06.2008.
During the above period, I was involved in the following works. Design and Development of concrete products and processes for Housing and Industrial Structures Including Ferro-cement products. Condition assessment of Distressed Concrete and Steel Structures affected By fire, Corrosion and on Quality of concrete using NDT and PDT techniques And suggesting remedial measures for retrofitting the structures.
Studies on corrosion of steel reinforcement in normal and high performance Concrete due to chloride and carbon-di-oxide environment.

Teaching Experience:

Worked as Professor in the Civil Engineering Department of Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering Technology,chembarambakkam, Chennai-600 123 .From July 2008 to June 2010.Presently working as Asst.Professor in MNMJEC from June 2010 to October 2011 and as HOD, CIVIL from October 2011 to till date.eaching subjects such as Design of RC Elements, Design of Concrete and Masonry Structures, Pre-Stressed Concretetructures and Building Services For VI, VII, VIII Semesters of under Graduate course and Advanced Concrete Technology for Post Graduate Course (M.E-Construction Engineering and Management).
