Establishment

The Campus-wide Networking and Maintenance (CNM) were established in the MISRIMAL NAVAJEE MUNOTH JAIN ENGINEERING COLLEGE, Thorapakkam, Chennai –96 on 11th August 2004. This separate division is formed to function under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. This department was rendering service to the academic community in the entire campus from Aug 2004.

Location of the CNM

Department is located in the main building of the Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College.

Our campus

The Campus-wide Network covering over 6 major Engineering department, MBA Department and 15 supporting departments in our campus which spread over 19.36 acres was conceived, studied, planned, designed, optimized and executed by the Campus wide networking. Network was established with Ethernet technology. All the constituent department of our college is linked, using a Bandwidth of 10 Mbps Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd’s leased Line Internet connectivity.

Potentialities of the department
The CNM department is functioning as a central service facility, providing computing and Internet facilities to all the staff, students and Research and Development of scholars of Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College.

Major Responsibilities

	Purchase and Maintenance of Computer Hardware’s Software’s, Printers and other
	Computer related peripherals.
	To repair and maintain all Computers, Printers and it’s associated peripherals.
	To purchase and distribute new computers and accessories.
	To Purchase and distribute Computer Stationeries.
	To initiate and maintain Computer network and install administrative software for
	the college.
	To prepare and maintain database of all students and staff in the college.
	To maintain Centralized servers of the college.
	To initiate and maintain the Internet facility for the entire college.
	To establish and to maintain the centralized Internet facility center for the benefit of students
	and staff of the college.
	To keep and maintain all the original software, and make available to the
	respective departments when required and to produce when the inspection
	committee visits the college.
	To prepare and maintain AMC for the above equipments as and when required.
	To renew any contract on software or AMC.
